RE: Plot Armor.
If there is one thing I fucking hate about 41k is how it has no useful perspective on how advanced Spess Merines are besides "they always win."
I'll (grudgingly) cut short a long rant, and leave it at I don't begrudge Johnson anything -he pays for his survival and frankly it'd be a poor storyteller who takes him out with a fall.
But the rest of GW and BL have no excuses.
Oh, here's an easy one: in his last coliseum fight Johnson relates how Lellith had him seconds away from bleeding to death before he "wounded her once."
Why didn't he bleed out after that? I doubt emergency first aid for their gladiators is really a Druchii priority, and historically one hell of a lot of duels ended with one party killing the other and then dying of wounds received.
I can let that shit slide for Eatatau, but compare that to the Corsair Queen getting taken out by Capt. Sicarius in "Courage and Honor." Same "she scores lots of meaningful hits that slow him and weaken him" and same "but he ignores them all because lol who needs connected muscles to fight and hits the I WIN button."
This setting has tons of potential, but boy is it squandered -and not by the fans.
Look at the lexipedia. The space marines legally have plot armor 'genes' ~organ thingy..? http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Gene-Seed
They were made by The Emperahhh to be the best. They are highly unlikely to die from anything a norman man would die.
Hell, some got taken to dozens of pieces and he become a dreadnought.
more likely remeber that with the exeption of bulky nids we haven't seen anything sturdy by itself besides jonson (i mean come on taus? eldaar? druchii? they're know for going squish quite quick if you land some blows on themXD)
Jesus Christ, this is the eldhaar trophy room, he will get one he'll of a power armor set now! I hope he picks the furry one, I love space wolves - on the darkest night they come, the sky warriors of fenris...
